VERSATILITY PROGRAM

Israel Canaan Dog Club of America, Inc.

The purpose of this program is to promote the healthy and versatile nature of the Canaan Dog.

The program recognizes outstanding specimens of the breed which have demonstrated excellence in a variety of endeavors.

The title of Versatility Companion (VC) is awarded to dogs earning 5 points from a minimum of 3 categories.

The title of Versatility Companion Excellent (VCX) is awarded to dogs earning 10 points from a minimum of 5 categories, with at least 1 point coming from an intermediate level title.

The title of Versatility Champion (VCH) is awarded to dogs earning 15 points from 6 categories, with points in intermediate or advanced levels earned from at least 2 categories.

Soundness Soundness ( 1 point per certificate)

A. Good or excellent OFA or PennHip rating

B. CERF clear

C. ATTS

D. Other (thyroid normal, etc.)

Conformation Conformation

A. Conformation Championship (1 point per national registering organization, e.g. U.K.C., AKC, or CKC)

B. BOB National Specialty (1 point)

C. BIS - all breed show (1 point)
 

Obedience Obedience

A. Any title from national registering organizations or other major multibreed national organizations (1 point per title)
 
 
 

 

Agility Agility

A. Any title from  national registering organizations or other major multibreed national organizations (e.g. AKC, NADAC, U.K.C., USDAA)
(1 point per title)
 
 

 

Scentwork Scentwork

A. Any tracking title from national registering organizations or other major multibreed national organizations (1 point per title)

B. Search and Rescue Work (verified participation on 3 occasions = 1 point maximum)

C. Narcotics/Bomb Detection (verified participation on 3 occasions = 1 point maximum)

Herding Herding

A. Any title from national registering organizations or other major multibreed national organizations, e.g. AHBA, AKC, or ASCA            (1 point per title)
 
 
 

 

Therapy Dog Assistance Work

A. Service Dog (1 point, considered advanced title)

B. Social/Therapy Dog (must be certified by TDI or Delta and make minimum of 6 documented visits = 1 point maximum) 

C. Documented Heroic Feats
 

Carting Miscellaneous (must present title certificate from national registering organizations or other major multibreed national organizations where appropriate. If no title is offered in that category, the performance must be documented on a minimum of 3 occasions within the same category = 1 point maximum for the category)
A. CGC
B. Carting
C. Weigh Pull
D. Backpacking
E. Flyball
F. Scent Hurdles
G. Frisbee
H. Freestyle
I. Modeling/Acting
J. Public Relations (parades, seminars, etc.)
K. Other (such as invitational competitions)
